and the name given to the various
Gods of the Polynesian Islands.

Modern tiki came around in the 40’s when American GI’s returning from WWII in the Pacific region brought back various exotic items and art from their travels.
Soon the likes of Don the Beachcomber and Victor “Trader Vic” Bergeron started opening bars and Restaurants in this exotic style which provided a tropical getaway from post war life.
Tiki style was born and became recognizable worldwide.
TIKI NOW Tiki has become an icon of modern style, influencing many people from Modern Artists and Designers
to Film and Television makers.
The Tiki Bar is back once again with its innovative and altogether more exciting take on the Bar World,
with places like Mahiki (image below left)cleaning up at bar awards ceremonies.
